VANCOUVER, Canada--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC) has announced it will partner with Physitrack, the global digital therapeutics provider, to deliver its platform for global exercise prescription and outcome analysis to its growing Membership of more than 2,400 Physiotherapists.
The announcement is a significant milestone for Physitrack, which appointed Michael Sloniewsky to head its North American operations only in February of this year.
“PABC is delighted to be taking this step forward with Physitrack which is clearly a global leader in digital therapeutics,” says PABC CEO Kevin Evans. “The partnership underscores our recent decision to position member adoption of e-health technology as a key strategic priority of our Association.”
Through the new partnership, PABC underlines its commitment to promoting innovation and technology across the BC physiotherapy profession, enabling its members to advance their practice and professionalize care delivered to patients.
Physitrack is amongst a select group of e-health solution developers with which Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has announced collaboration. Its solution enables PABC physiotherapists to create tailored exercise programs in seconds, choosing from more than 3,000 clearly narrated, clinically verified exercise videos developed by leading institutions for physiotherapy research.
Patients complete their prescribed exercises via free and easy-to-use iPhone, iPad or web apps, while in-app reminders keep them on track and motivated.
PABC physiotherapists gain real-time insight to patient outcomes via in-app adherence and pain level reporting as well as clinically verified patient outcomes questionnaires. Physitrack allows them to proactively adjust exercise programs or schedule additional appointments. Large clinics and institutions can perform additional real-time outcomes analysis using statistical methodology similar to that of sample-based clinical trials on the data generated by its own practitioners, to make sure that the patient journey and services associated with it are optimized in their clinical ecosystem. The result is more engaged, adherent patients, and an enhanced level of service for clinics and institutions.
Henrik Molin, CEO of Physitrack adds: “We are proud that PABC has chosen Physitrack to bring the full benefit of digital therapeutics to its members and their patients. We are aware of the Association’s strong commitment to the adoption of technology, and so are particularly pleased to work with them. PABC joins our growing roster of partnering professional associations around the world and, as our first partner Association in North America, is especially prized.”
Physitrack is a privately held digital therapeutics and outcomes analysis provider with offices in Santa Monica, London, Amsterdam, New Delhi and Melbourne. The company develops iOS and web apps with Physitrack’s proprietary and clinically verified video exercises in areas such as musculoskeletal, neurological, paediatric and military rehabilitation.
Founded in 1927 as a Branch of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC) became incorporated 1945.
