Upwell Health Collective: taking client engagement to the next level
The new Upwell Health Collective in Melbourne, Australia is the brainchild of owners Matt Stanlake and Catherine Mitchell. The centre is helping to change the way healthcare services are delivered in Australia - by offering a fully-integrated patient care model where health and wellness professionals work together to diagnose, treat and manage a range of musculoskeletal conditions - returning patients to optimum health as quickly as possible.

The idea for the centre was borne of Matt’s personal experience as a patient and as a physiotherapist. He suffered from a range of musculoskeletal injuries over several years that required input from health professionals across multiple disciplines. “Our fragmented medical services industry, and the lack of communication between disciplines, greatly impacted the management of my conditions and left me feeling confused about how to improve my health,” says Matt. “For clients being treated at our centre, it means no more having to repeat their story to multiple health professionals at different locations across Melbourne, and then feeling confused about what advice to follow.”

Clients can access physiotherapy, podiatry, occupational therapy, clinical Pilates services and remedial massage, as well as a range of wellness services including yoga, Pilates, relaxation massage, meditation and functional training. Engaging clients during and after consultations is an important part of Upwell’s offering, so rolling out Physitrack was an easy decision for the team.

“Using Physitrack means our patients and clients can follow their exercise programs anywhere and report back to their health professional on their progress instantly. Not only does this improve adherence, but our practitioners can provide more proactive care based on real-time client outcomes data," says Matt. “The built-in outcome measures makes collecting outcomes data for Workcover and other payers a breeze and helps us in our quest to become a 100% paperless clinic.”
