Charles Sturt University: Educating Healthcare Practitioners of the Future
An interesting story about how an Australian University uses Physitrack to prepare future exercise physiologists for a career in healthcare.
don’t take our word for it
Charles Sturt University (CSU) was established in 1989 and has since grown to one of the largest regional universities in Australia. With its origins dating back to experimental farms in the late 1890’s, CSU now consist of a range of faculties including Arts & Education, Business and Science.
Jayden Hunter is an accredited exercise physiologist and lecturer at the School of Exercise Science, Sport & Health. For the past 12 months he has been using Physitrack with his students, as well as in his clinic.
“I have implemented Physitrack both as a clinician (exercise physiologist) and lecturer at CSU over the past 12 months with great success. My patients and students alike have commented on the ease of use and high quality of the platform.
From a clinical perspective it is great to track patient adherence to rehabilitation, and to be able to communicate with patients in between visits. The outcome measures library has been of particular value for me to monitor client progress and provide them with a source of motivation towards their rehabilitation efforts.”
On the academic use of Physitrack Ayden mentions: “I have incorporated Physitrack into my teaching and assessment tasks at CSU, providing students with an introduction to the platform as a resource and future tool to use in their own clinical practice. Feedback from students has been very positive, particularly regarding the ease of use of the platform, the comprehensiveness of the exercise database, and the usefulness of the outcome measures library. It certainly provides an excellent resource for a huge variety of exercises and a growing bank of outcomes measures, with the ability to create your own customised additions.
I look forward to continuing my use of Physitrack both in a clinical and teaching space, and am excited to see future developments and extensions!”
