Benedetto Sports & Orthopaedics: Makes Patients More Empowered in Their Own Care.
“Physitrack acts like a real Silicon Valley tech company in the sense that the product seems to be always evolving. A lot of other exercise prescription products don’t seem to have that same sense of trying to refine the product based on user feedback.”

Over 10 years of experience
100% direct patient approach
Dr. Frank Benedetto, along with co-founder Dr. Cedric Haddad, owns a small chain of clinics in New Jersey named ProVere Physical Therapy. Frank and ProVere were one of Physitrack’s early adopters and are a strong advocate for its use in empowering patients to be an active participant in care. Frank is now in the startup stage of a Telehealth platform focused on injury prevention and rehab for the martial arts community called CounterStrike.
A Doctor of Physical Therapy for 10 years, and one of the most credentialed in the USA, being double board certified in both orthopaedics and sports, Frank, like many clinicians, fell into Physical Therapy after receiving treatment for a broken leg and a shoulder injury in his teens.
Despite recovering well from his leg fracture, his shoulder injury was mismanaged and resulted in him having an unnecessary and failed surgical intervention. A procedure that, in retrospect, he now sees could of been managed conservatively with some well directed physical therapy.
Since this date, Frank has been striving to help re-write the way physical therapy is approached in the US, with more emphasis on a patient-centric, self-empowering approach, over the medical model that is commonly seen today in the US. Through ProVere, this was primarily achieved by being one of the first brands to commit to a 100% direct to consumer approach. Now, with Frank’s newest venture, CounterStrike, he is focused on leveraging technology to re-invent the delivery mechanism of PT interventions.
So how has Physitrack helped Frank and his team to develop this approach? Frank says,
“After clients have an evaluation with my team at CounterStrike, either in person or remotely with Physitrack Telehealth, they are then set up with a bespoke plan delivered via Physitrack.”
“There is a fraction of the population who do require continuous hands on treatment. However, the overwhelming majority of people with pain don’t need such emphasis on hands on. They can get the same outcomes from the right program when coached properly. This model requires the client to be the fixer, with us, the clinicians as their guide.”
“A lot of PTs are confused about how digital healthcare applies to the physical side of the industry. As a profession we need to continue to review the digital offerings, with the key being to utilize them to maximise the human side of healthcare. If systems automate large chunks of care with high quality, clinically valid content, this can allow more time for the clinician to build a relationship with the client. This, in turn, increases the odds of intervening on the psychosocial aspects of care that are often missed by PTs trapped in rushed, volume based practices.”
“Physitrack is an excellent example of this. Building a clients programme literally takes minutes. The patient has easy access to high quality, independent rehab. We don’t have to spend a year creating our own content as they are all provided for us on the Physitrack platform.”
“Our previous method of exercise prescription delivery would be burdensome to the clinicians and often left the client feeling more confused. Physitrack makes patients accountable and more empowered in their own care while also making our clinicians much more efficient.”
