In a quest to deliver evidence-based exercise programs to more Cystic Fybrosis patients, AEP Ryan McCathie from Hunter Rehabilitation and Health in Australia recently landed $40,000 in funding from local Primary Health Networks.

Ryan started Hunter Rehabilitation and Health in Newcastle in July 2016 after returning from a stint at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in London.

“We have a passion for using exercise as medicine and believe that exercise is the most effective yet underutilised treatment for Cystic Fybrosis and COPD clients”, explains Ryan.

“Access to quality healthcare is still a major challenge for patients living remotely, so during the pitch we needed to demonstrate how we were going to deliver large scale exercise programs to patients living across New South Wales in rural and remote regions.

We had already been using Physitrack in our clinic for over a year and seen a significant increase in client adherence to their exercise programs. Clients absolutely love the free client app and GP’s know us as ‘the clinic using that cool app with their clients’.

When we had the opportunity to pitch for this funding we used Physitrack front and center to show how easy-to-use technology can deliver our exercise programs state-wide supported by Telehealth video calls. The audience loved the fact Physitrack even lets us live stream exercise videos during a Telehealth call to make sure clients feel 100% confident about how to do their exercises.

We were obviously stoked to receive funding for our program to help us do what we love best: help clients best manage their condition and get the most out of live!”
