Expanding joint care programs through Telehealth

Meet HFRC, a rehab facility where the team completely changed their way of delivering healthcare in the past 12 months.

HFRC is a well-known orthopaedic rehabilitation facility in Western Australia, having delivered quality care and excellent outcomes to patients before and after their joint replacement surgery for over 20 years.

For the better part of the last 12 months, HFRC have been trialling a new telehealth rehabilitation service , delivering the same quality care to patients over the internet. The service is catered to patients who live in remote and rural areas or face transport difficulties, unable to access face-to-face services for pre- and post-operative exercise rehabilitation.

HFRC have recently launched their new telehealth service, Total Joint Care (TJC) Online, which is now publicly available, with or without specialist referral. Central to the telehealth offering is Physitrack, which allows patients to access their home-based exercises via the free PhysiApp client app. This helps patients self-manage their post-surgery rehabilitation while reporting back on their progress to their treating therapist, in real time.

"Physitrack is an integral part of our telehealth offering, which has changed orthopaedic rehabilitation forever by delivering our expert services to anyone, anywhere."

HFRC Managing Director and Exercise Physiologist Dr Brendan Joss: “Physitrack is an integral part of our telehealth offering, which has changed orthopaedic rehabilitation forever by delivering our expert services to anyone, anywhere. Being able to treat patients remotely via Telehealth and track their outcomes data via an app our patients love using has been a complete gamechanger. Not only does it significantly improve the patient experience, but having detailed outcomes data at our fingertips means we can provide our patients with an even better service.”
